Now that the kids are back to school, or perhaps you are a teacher that is now back in the classroom, how do you stay organized? It’s so easy to fall behind when the kids come home and throw their backpacks in the first place they can find so that they can rush outside and play with their friends. On the flip side, if you are a teacher, you come home with a gazillion papers to read, grade and make preparations for so you find the first place to throw them so that you can go take a nap and try to re-gain your sanity from your profession. 1. Storage: Make sure you have ample storage at home and for the locker. It is also a great idea to have a designated homework area in the home away from distractions like the TV. Make sure your homework area has pencil cups and other containers to hold schools supplies. Don’t have pencil cups? Mason jars are an inexpensive way to store pencils and other utensils.
2. A Designated Homework Area: Whether this is a home office or a cute little desk in then kitchen. Having a quaint and personalized homework area, with plenty of storage, will help the kids feel more motivated to do homework. They will also feel more comfortable.
3. A Calendar- Having a family calendar will keep everyone organized during the school year. You could make a huge chalkboard calendar on the wall of your home or create your own personalized calendar on photo sites like Walmart, Target, or Snapfish.
4. A Filing Cabinet- File, file, file those important school and work documents. Paper can pile up and make like hectic and unorganized. Make sure all documents have a home in a filing cabinets. Pinterest has some great ideas for making drab metal filing cabinets super cute!
