What is a Fire Dawg?
A Fire Dawg is a military firefighter. It is a term awarded to military firefighters and graduates from the Department of Defense Fire Academy. In the military, the firefighter motto is: Desire to Serve, Ability to Perform, Courage to Act. Bennett J. Grove II is our Owner and was a military firefighter in the Air Force for 6 years, both on active duty in the Air Force and in the Air National Guard. He is still a firefighter today working for Grissom Fire Department. We proudly use the Fire Dawgs name as a symbol that our company has been built on the character, integrity and professionalism that comes with fire department roots.
With a foundation built on firefighting roots, we have been able to create a company culture and team full of Tough Dawgs that Get It Done! We are committed to providing a professional service with screened, uniformed removers and having a customer service team available to serve our clients. As a result, we have been able to earn a reputation as a company with character, integrity and grit. Bennett J. Grove II
Owner, Chief Executive Officer
Brief Bio: Founder, Owner and CEO of Fire Dawgs, Inc., Bennett developed the concept of Fire Dawgs from his service in the military, having served the greatest country in the world for 6 years in the Air Force as a firefighter. After serving in the military, he transitioned his firefighting career to the civilian side working for the Department of Defense as a civilian firefighter. He currently works at Grissom Fire Department on Grissom Air Force Base. With help from his fellow firefighters, the business and concept was launched working off duty days from the firehouse with little cash and part time employees. Today, through ongoing re-investment into the business, we have a management team, lead technicians and a customer service team. Bennett will tell you what he enjoys most about the business is building leaders. However, what he loves the most in life is being a husband to his wife and a father to his two little boys.
Owner, Director of Marketing
Brief Bio: Happy Wife, Happy Life! Miranda isn’t the type to sit on the sidelines and root for the team, she likes to get involved. Bennett knew better than to get in the way once her mind was made up so Miranda’s journey as the Director of Marketing was born. With a Master’s degree in English, and after just having her first child, Miranda was wanting to leave her career as an English teacher but still wanting to remain active and engaged with her skill set. Marketing was a natural fit and Miranda never looked back. For over the last three years, Miranda has been involved with all of our key marketing decisions for Fire Dawgs and will continue to be an asset to Fire Dawgs for the foreseeable future.
Operations Manager, Indianapolis
Brief Bio: Brycen Spangler is our fearless new operations manager. Joining the company in August 2019, he has brought leadership skills, brawn, and authority to his role. Some of his hobbies include sports, woodworking and building, and working out. He is seeking a role in a fire department in the Indianapolis area, but his favorite jobs at Fire Dawgs include demos (because it’s always cool to destroy stuff) and full clean outs for the satisfying beginning and end
Operations Manager, Fort Wayne
Brief Bio: Leading our Fort Wayne division, Curtis Macy has a long history of serving our country and community. A firefighter since 1996, his passion for helping others shines through in his infectious attitude he brings every day. His favorite job, demos, allows him to use exciting new equipment, and brings him a large sense of satisfaction in seeing the progress from start to finish with the job. However, most of all, Curtis loves to see how Fire Dawgs builds leaders, and watching a new employee grow and move up the company ladder. When not at work, Curtis is spending time with his high school sweetheart and wife, as well as their four girls. He also loves to hunt and fish.
Operations Manager, Bloomington
Brief Bio: With his majestic beard, Andrew is our seasoned veteran with Fire Dawgs. He brings this experience to help lead the Bloomington team, and is one of our strongest guys! When not growing personally and professionally, Andrew loves to spend time with his family, and can be found on his boat, soaking in the sun. Andrews favorite jobs includes flipping hot tubs, and large demos
Business Development / Lead Tech, Fort Wayne
Brief Bio: Rob is the man with a plan. As head of the business development team in Fort Wayne, as well as a lead tech, he is on the front lines of making Fire Dawgs what it is today. A family man, Rob loves that we are one big family at Fire Dawgs, and particularly loves shed demos, swingset demos, and garage clean outs. The look of relief on the customers faces when a job is complete is one of the most satisfying parts of the job that Rob enjoys. Additionally, Rob served for 9 years in the Indiana National Guard, including one deployment, as well as 11 years of being a full-time firefighter. In his free time, Rob enjoys spending time with family, hunting, fishing, and rooting for Notre Dame football.
Lead Tech, Indianapolis
Brief Bio: Fire Dawgs personal trainer and Crew Chief Peyton Kimes brings his A game every day that comes to work. Peyton is currently in the process of becoming a member of the IFD and enjoys lifting, sports, and fishing when he is not leading a crew or training others. Peyton always loves to manhandle the job, be it hot tub flipping, or swinging a sledgehammer. Interestingly, he has ran with the bulls in Spain, bringing that fearlessness to every job he faces.
IT / Customer Service Representative
Brief Bio: Tech Wizard extroidonair, Matthew is the dependable rock that is always able to come up with a solution. Between solving IT problems, helping to run the Firepenuers podcast, or creating a unique customer experience for everyone, Matt does it all. When he is not in the office and is on the truck, swinging a sledgehammer, helping with demos is his calling. Outside of work, Matthew is an aspiring aviator, and played multiple NCAA sports in college!

Brief Bio: With over 15 years of experience in customer service, 9 of them as the Manager of a Hotel, Nick knows how to keep his clients and customers happy. More importantly, Nick understands our motto of “Treat every customer the way you would want your family to be treated.” With an amazing track record of customer satisfaction, Nick is here to lead our team in customer engagement, but also ensure that the first interaction they have with our company, whether it is an email or phone call, is positive and up beat from the beginning to the post service follow up.
