Alternative Uses for Your Junk

Jul 27, 2012 | Blog, Frequently Asked Questions

Junk Removal is a service that it seems like all of us need at some point, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that everyone will hire a junk removal company to take care of their clutter for them. This could be for a number of reasons; it could be that there is still a large number of do it yourselfers that want to put in the sweat equity. This unique group of people are very hard working and don’t like the idea of somebody else doing something for them that they could do themselves and there is nothing wrong with that. On some larger jobs, it could be argued that there is a savings in doing it yourself, but often times, we find that after a customer borrows/rents a truck, pays for fuel, pays for associated disposal and recycling costs while eventually factoring in what their time is worth they quickly find that our service is fairly priced. The fuel alone is expensive especially when you factor in what it costs to take those unwanted items to different sites such as Habitat for Humanity, Goodwill, Recycling Centers and finally the dump. It’s a lot of travelling and there definitely is cost involved. However, we admire the do it yourselfers and are always here in the event they change their minds in the future.

The group of people that we are worried about are those people that just don’t know enough about our service and are therefore concerned about hiring a junk removal company out of fear that everything will just end up in the dump. While there are a number of companies out there that do just that, that is not what we represent. More importantly, those companies are typically uninsured and run out of the back of a pickup. There is nothing wrong with these types of removers as hard working people, but the problem becomes that they promise the lowest prices and even lower service. If they ding up your walls, rest assured they do not have liability insurance to cover the damage. If they back into something on your property, again, no insurance to help you there; if you think that’s frustrating, wait til you want to go and review that company at the BBB or Angie’s List and then realize there’s no website or company registered which means you won’t be able to vent! There is a reason people call their businesses legitimate and these are just a few of those reasons.

Now, what makes our service a true asset and worthy of consideration is that we go the extra mile and try to ensure that your junk and unwanted items stay out of the landfill. When you pay for our service, you are going to get an insured company, all the way from the trucks to the business to the workers, that will make every effort to recycle, reuse or donate every item we take away. Now, we are not 100% successful at this because at the end of the day, some stuff is still just trash. However, since we work with Goodwill, Habitat for Humanity and a variety of recycling centers, we are very good at finding alternative outlets for the things you need removed.

So, the next time you go looking in your garage or basement and see that mess, but don’t want to see it all go in the dump, worry not! At Fire Dawgs, we will make the extra effort to take an environmentally friendly approach that will put your mind at ease. What do we do with the tax deductible receipts? We send those back to you!
