The question is: How to Declutter? This is a pretty broad (but relevant) question. At Fire Dawgs Junk Removal, we are pros at helping people declutter their lives. And we love it. We are passionate about helping our customers simplify and purify. There are a few key steps to take when beginning the process of decluttering. Let’s talk about them.
How to Declutter Your Life
Clean Out Closets and Other Storage Spaces
Closets, basements, attics, and garages. What do these spaces all have in common? They collect clutter! Yes, they do. You know how it works. You don’t need something. Throw it in the closet. Shut the door. Forget it.
Start with these storage spaces. Start by putting items in piles. Make a pile labeled “donate.” Make another labeled “trash/junk/things I don’t need/etc.” Please make a pile for “recyclables.” And finally make a “keep pile.” Hopefully the Keep Pile is the smallest! Our rule of thumb is: If it doesn’t spark happiness and joy, toss it!
Recycle and Donate
Neuroscience tells us that we are happiest when showing compassion and doing good! Recycling and donating will definitely make you feel all fuzzy inside. At Fire Dawgs, we donate and recycle as much as we can. If you need help with recycling and donating your unwanted items, call us at 317-291-DAWG. We can pick up items and donate them on your behalf. We will also send you a tax deductible receipt. So, it is a win-win.
Don’t Buy it Unless You Love it
We are so serious about this rule. Don’t buy things just to have more things. We believe you shouldn’t buy items unless you absolutely need them or absolutely love them. Does some spark JOY, ELATION, HAPPINESS? Ok you can have it…IF, you know exactly where its going to go. We suggest passing on items that you don’t have an exact place in your space for.
We hope these tips help you figure out How to Declutter Your Life! If you have any additional questions, please give us a call at 317-291-DAWG. Or, if you need to use our residential dumpsters to help declutter your space, check out Dumpster Dawgs!
