Question: How big are junk removal trucks?
Answer: I like to joke to myself when I hear this question because although the customer may just be asking, “How big are your junk removal trucks,” we sometimes think they mean “I don’t know if you have a truck big enough for this job!” Either way, we are up for the challenge! Our junk removal truck can hold 16 cubic yards of debris, old furniture, concrete, brush, old appliances, and much more. A common term we use to describe our removal and salvage apparatus is that it is a “mini-dump truck.” The junk removal trucks are 12’ long, 5’ tall and 7’ wide which rounds up to 16 cubic yards.
So, the next question may be “how much debris can 16 cubic yards hold?” The answer to this is that it varies. However, we like to draw a parallel or provide an example most people can relate to and this is we put our dump truck into “pickup truck loads.” The term pickup truck load is highly subjective because how much a pickup truck load can hold is in the eye of the beholder. For example, a pickup truck load to us is what the back of a standard size pickup truck could hold and drive down the road without debris or items falling out of the truck. Meanwhile, some people consider a pickup truck load how high and wide you can keep things in the truck enough that you can strap it down and have a 50/50 shot that something will fly out at the car behind you if you hit a bump in the road. Using our aforementioned description of a pickup truck load, our mini-dump trucks can hold 5 full pickup truck loads. You will often see residential size dumpsters in your neighbor’s driveway when they are into a remodeling project and our trucks can handle that same amount of debris, depending on the cubic yardage of the dumpster, except that with us, we do all the work for you and will be in and out within 2 hours!
